Grant season is in full swing and our customers are among the recipients! Let’s take a look at three recently announced federal grant programs and congratulate our customers who are receiving much deserved funding!

FY 2018 Advancing Precision Medicine (APM) Supplemental Awards

We’ve written about precision medicine in the past, and recently HRSA announced recipients for their APM awards which are one-time supplemental funding to help health centers increase community awareness of the All of Us Research Program (AoU) and facilitate health center patients’ enrollment in AoU.

Congratulations to Quality of Life Health Services and North Country Healthcare for being awarded $465,000 each in APM awards!

FY2018 Capital Assistance for Hurricane Response and Recovery Efforts

HRSA recently announced nearly $60 million to support community health centers impacted by hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria through their Capital Assistance for Hurricane Response and Recovery Efforts (CARE) funding.

FY2018 SAMHA Opioid and Substance Abuse Grants

The U.S. Department of Health and Humans Services (HHS) announced over $396 million in grants to address substance abuse and combat the opioid crisis across the country. The funding comes through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to support the expansion of treatment services, strengthening community efforts to fight the opioid epidemic. The grants include the following categories:

  • Expanding Access to Quality Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Services

  • State Opioid Response Grants

  • Rural Communities Opioid Response Program

  • Enhancing Behavioral Health Workforce for Health Centers

  • Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program

  • Rural Health Opioid Program
